Top November Eats
A roundup of seriously good eats for my favourite month.
Glistening, sultry. Ink tagliatelle at Officina 00 in Shoreditch. Perfectly al dente noodles generously slathered in a buttery reduction. This is the best seafood dish I’ve had in a long time. The clams were fresh– sweet, soft and briny, everything perfectly cut through with a nutty crumble topping. Also highly recommend: their fried lasagna starter. Pass: the tiramisu.
Caramelised onion and sausage pasta (unpictured, it’s always scoffed down too fast). Modified this recipe by using comte in place of gorgonzola, a whole lot of chicken stock, and organic chicken sausages. I’d argue it tastes better than the original, which I’ve made before. French onion soup and sausage pie have a baby, right here in this winter-ready pasta.
Spiced polenta and feta fries at Ceru, in Queensway, dipped in minty dilly yoghurt. I’ve had this massive jenga side maybe three times at least in the past 2 months, and every single time they turn out to be magically thin, well-seasoned and crisp on the outside; wonderfully thick and juicy, but never spongy, on the inside.
